Meet Our Coaches

Brenda Dalton

Brenda brings over 24 years of coaching experience to the Yellowknife Skating Club. She holds certifications as a Special Olympics Level 1 Coach, Provincial Coach, and is National Coach Trained. She has also completed portions of her NCCP Level 3 in both Singles and Dance (technical and theory).

Brenda’s skating accomplishments include:
• Gold Dance
• Bronze Freeskate
• Gold (8th) Figure

She has coached athletes at multiple levels, including:
• Special Olympics Provincial & National Teams (2000, 2008)
• Arctic Winter Games Teams (2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018)
• Canada Winter Games Teams (2003, 2007, 2011, 2019)

In addition to coaching, Brenda has served in several leadership roles, including:
• Club Coach Representative
• Regional Coach Representative (Skate Canada Alberta Section)
• NWT Coach Representative (NWT Figure Skating Association)

She also has experience organizing skating clinics and is passionate about supporting skaters of all levels.

Lemy Douleva


Lemy brings over 5 years of coaching experience to the Yellowknife Skating Club. She is a Regional Coach Certified professional and holds additional credentials as a CSEP Certified Personal Trainer and NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist. She also holds a Personal Fitness Training Diploma from NAIT.
 
Lemy’s skating accomplishments include:
• Gold Dance
• Gold Freeskate
• Gold Skills
• Pre-Novice Competitive
• Gold Medalist at the STARSkate Gold Level (2013, 2014)She was a member of the Arctic Winter Games Team in 2008 and 2012, and is a Choreography Specialist with a passion for performance and movement. In addition to her coaching, Lemy brings a strong background in athlete development, off-ice training, and injury prevention.

Lisa Do

Lisa is a Certified NCCP CanSkate Coach and Certified Regional Coach with a strong background in choreography and competitive skating. She is also a Choreography Specialist who brings creativity and energy to her coaching.
 
Lisa’s skating accomplishments include:
• Gold Freeskate
• Gold Dance
• Gold Skills
• Gold Interpretive
• Novice Competitive
• STARSkate Competitor
• Regionals and Sectionals Competitor
 
She was a Team NWT member at the Arctic Winter Games in 2004, 2006 (Bronze Medalist), 2008, 2010, and 2012, and a Canada Winter Games Team Member in 2011.
Lisa is passionate about supporting skaters of all levels and helping them develop strong foundations, artistry, and confidence on the ice.

Jodi Brennan


Jodi brings over 20 years of coaching experience to the Yellowknife Skating Club. She is currently a National Coach In-Training and has also spent 6 years as a Skate Canada Official, bringing a well-rounded perspective to the sport.

Jodi has coached at the Canada Winter Games and continues to support skaters in reaching their personal and competitive goals.

Her deep knowledge of figure skating and long-standing involvement with Skate Canada make her a valuable member of the YKSC coaching team.

At the Yellowknife Skating Club, we’re proud to have a team of passionate, professional coaches dedicated to helping every skater reach their full potential.
All of our coaches are certified through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and follow Skate Canada’s Coaches Code of Ethics.

To support a positive and respectful environment, we ask that all skaters and parents follow both the Yellowknife Skating Club Policies and Skate Canada’s Parent Code of Conduct.

Email is the only way we share club updates, schedule changes, and important announcements.
Messages are sent to the email address on your Uplifter account, so please be sure it’s one you check regularly.
We do not send paper handouts or make phone calls.
As a volunteer-run club, we rely on email and online tools to keep things organized and efficient.
