Registration for the August 2025 Summer Session is available to current Skate Canada members.
2025/26 Season Registration opens in August 2025.

A YEAR-END CELEBRATION

The Yellowknife Skating Club hosts a year-end celebration every season to highlight our skaters' progress and share their achievements with the community.
We alternate between a full-scale Ice Show and a simpler Showcase each year:
  • Ice Show (held every 2 years): A professionally styled performance with themes, choreography, costumes, props, and lighting.
  • Showcase (held in alternate years): A fun, low-key event with group routines based on a theme, but without costumes or lighting.
These events offer skaters of all levels the opportunity to perform in a team setting and experience the excitement of a show environment.

Participation Requirements

  • Registration is required by the published deadline.
  • Refunds are only available until the registration deadline.
  • Coaches are responsible for selecting groups, music, costumes (Ice Show only), and choreography decisions are final.

Costume Fees (Ice Show Only)

  • Costume fees are billed separately.
  • Families will be notified before billing. If you do not wish to participate, you must opt out in writing before the fee is applied.
  • Costume fees are non-refundable once billed.
  • Parents will be asked to complete a Costume Questionnaire for sizing and style input.

Dress Rehearsal & Show Day

  • Only skaters, coaches, and approved volunteers are allowed in dressing rooms or ice-level areas.
  • Parents must sign their skater in and out with the assigned Room Parent.
  • All skaters are expected to stay for the entire event, including the group Finale.

Volunteers Needed

Parent volunteers are essential for the success of both the Ice Show and Showcase. Opportunities include:
  • Dressing room supervision
  • Ice-level assistance
  • Ticket sales
  • Setup and takedown
Please sign up via our Volunteer Form or email us at ykskatingclub@outlook.com if you'd like to help.
